You could call it busy. Moves. Summer vacation. Start of school. Last child. The forgotten one. Whatever you call it, Isaac calls it THIS YEAR I WANT a friends BIRTHDAY PARTY.
So, despite the crazy that has been our life the last couple week with relocation prep & school starting- a party was planned. A NERF party to be exact.
Isaac is a funny kid. His guest list was as sporadic as he is. No matter the setting we are in he gravitates toward older kids. "Big brother" types. And he has been blessed with several at church and in some of our homeschool groups. Every last one was able to attend today!!! Ranging from 17 down to 8 years old, then Isaac the 7 year old and one tag along sibling that is 4 we had a great NERFday!
Here are a few shots of the day- I wish I could somehow give you a sense of the noise level. But just imagine this- Aidan, our one volume only outdoor voice kid, was caught saying "let's use our indoor voices" and "mom this is getting out of hand". HAHAHAHA! It was a great day with great friends!
NERF, Star Wars & Jenga pretty much sums up Isaac’s loves in life. Closely followed by superheros dress up, search and find books, playdough, puzzles and games. He raked it in!
We ventured out back for some target practice. We had hanging targets, foam can targets and balloon zombies, but mostly it was all out war on each other.
But prying Isaac away from his rubix cube did take some time. He’s fascinated with it!
Such a great group of boys! He was thrilled Andru and Trenton could stop by if only for a few minutes of fun!
*sigh* Seven it is. Ice cream cake (decorated by me) for my ice cream lovin’ kid!
He appears rather excited about just blowing out this candle considering his initial plan was to shoot the flame with a NERF gun. Uh, NO!
I’m so grateful for the timing of our move. While extremely bittersweet it was my prayer Isaac would have one more birthday here so his dream of a friend party could come true!
