Christmas '14

Christmas started a bit early this year!  We traditionally do 3 gifts per child, and due to an overwhelming abundance of STUFF we offered the kids the chance to get 2 gifts and one awesome experience.  The boys' came first the Sunday before Christmas- Marvel Avengers LIVE at Phillips Arena.  They had a blast!

High flying fun, motorbike stunts and all their favorite super heros!

Prior to volunteering and attending Christmas Eve services I snapped a quick picture of each kid by the tree.

Home in time to get stuff out for Santa and the reindeer.  Complete with Emma's annual note. :)

We were blessed Christmas morning with fighting....YES blessed! They were in disagreement on who should open presents first- "NO-you first! Open what I got you!!!".  As you can tell by Aidan's excitement over a TMNT notebook, they love exchanging small gifts with one another.

Then THIS happened!! Whoa!!!! I'm going to have to enlarge & frame this!

Emma with her loot! Santa brought art supplies and lots of goodies for her stocking (necklace, ring, book, nail polish). We got her the white wooden crate turned doll wardrobe complete with clothes & the Marie Grace accessories.  We also got her a guitar pick punch....quite the nifty little gadget to punch guitar picks from gift card/hotel key card type plastic.  Pretty cool! Now, the "experience" she chose will have to wait for the proper weather- camping.  She wants to go camping?!? My child?!?  (Shh....I've already priced renting an RV...momma no like camping....but danged they are expensive!) :)

Santa decided Aidan & Isaac could share and got Disney Infinity 2.0 Avengers  and several of the play sets/characters to go along with it.  Then they got their own gifts from mom and dad.

Aidan was difficult this year.  He didn't ask for much and it was pulling teeth to get suggestions! We got him  the Action Bible.  It's written and illustrated similar to a comic book.  Aidan has read through at least 4 different children's bibles ranging from basic to more detailed sharing more specific events...we had 3 stories left in his current bible so this was the next progression.  He loves reading the bible.  Each night it's his pick when choosing a bedtime story.  He also got Batman 3  and NES (old school Nintendo game mix) for his 3DS.  Then of course his stocking was filled with candy, al-le carte Lego mix, Mixels, and pop.

Isaac, oh Isaac.  Imaginex was the name of his game this year!  We got him the Super Man fun house set. (a last minute request!)  Then he also got the super hero and villain pack.  All the characters go with his Superman set and the Bat cave Aidan bought at our neighbors garage sale in October and the Bat Castle Emma got at the garage sale and gifted to the boys for Christmas. Essentially he got a boy's doll house. :)   His stocking was filled with Star Wars Hot Wheels and then very similar to Aidan's as they love many of the same things!

Our day was filled with the boys playing video games, Skyping with family to open gifts and posing for pictures to send our thanks to gift givers. :)  I tried my hand at my first prime rib and it was tastily successful. Emma baked Jesus a birthday cake. Simple, lazy day with family. Perfect!
