A whole handful. The child who seemed to be a crying, fussy infant for eternity has somehow skipped right on to being 5. Just.like.that!
He eats, sleeps & breathes Power Rangers. He only watches the show when we are at Grandma & Papa's who have Netflix, but that doesn't stop his love of rangers! They got him a megazord for Christmas and he literally plays with it every-single-day! He transforms it. Puts it together, takes it apart, combines it to make different creatures and never tires of it.
So, naturally for his bday he wanted a Power Ranger party and requested nothing but the Power Ranger Bull zord. And well, that's exactly what he got.
Along with several other smaller "zords",
a ranger mask & belt to go with the sword he already had.
Ranger toys are few and far between now that their popularity has all but vanished. So when we found something while bday shopping we got it! I always keep my eyes open at places like Gordmans, Ross & TJMax where the often carry things other stores don't want anymore. Here's his line up. He carefully cares for each one. Has never lost a single piece of any Power Ranger toy ever. Not through the move, hotel stay and despite he is constantly taking them where ever we go. :)
Mommy was a bit busy with unpacking and house projects that I opted out of making his cake. He was a bit disappointed, but the massive chocolate chip cookie helped. :)
Luckily it felt more like a party b/c Grandma & Papa were here and Emma used the massive amounts of cardboard we had everywhere to make party décor. :)
Poor Isaac missed out on the entire party. All that unpacking tuckered him out!
Happy birthday Aidan! I would have never guessed in all those stressful moments of you hurting and crying as an infant that you would be our biggest source of laughter and smiles in the future. Our happy, silly, LoUd!!!, active, goofy, 100% boy!!!!!
We also gave Grandma & Papa a break from all the work around the house and went to see the new Avengers movie in theaters. Here's my little Iron Man, Black Widow & Hulk (who's carrying?!?).
**UPDATE** Since his bday he and Matt have used the instructions in the Power Ranger toys to make the "GigaZord". It is the combination of alllllllll his Power Ranger toys to create one HUGE Zord. It's crazy how all these toys were preplanned to connect in this way! Best gifts he's ever been given!!!
His other new obsession is watching YouTube videos of Power Ranger dorks fanatics that video the different ways the creatures can connect, how they work and general PR information. Problem is some of the ones in videos are so old they aren't made anymore so I have to shoot him down every time he says "I want this one mom!" "Look this one makes sound!!" Sorry bud, you're a bit tardy to the PR craze. :)
