October in Review

Well as I type this these videos are over a month old, but still wanted to chronicle our month of October.

Aidan has very much surprised me the first 6 weeks in school.  He has grown leaps and bounds and I 'm surprised daily at his love of letters, sounds & reading.  Here are a few simple books he loves to sit and read each day.

And this is all him ladies and gentlemen...I did not stage this...he's such a goof!

As is evident in the videos Aidan has nonstop companionship in all his studies.  Often times a distraction, but considering Isaac loves being read to and Aidan loves reading it's a good partnership. Though I kinda wonder if Aidan's love of reading is 50% reading & 50% snuggling me on the couch while reading. :)

It can be a bit tense when teaching Iron Man himself...

The first Thursday of the month Emma attends her American Girl Doll book club. This month they did a canvas painting with the phrase "Never Lose Heart" a theme woven throughout the Kirsten books they are reading. While there I made my theatrical debut playing "Ma" in a reenactment of Kristen's family arriving in America.

Emma is coming right along in her guitar.  Ode to Joy playing notes.

A little Hank Williams Jambalaya in her guitar class.

Each week the boys do soooo very well waiting the 3 hours we are at Emma's classes.  We quickly discovered Legos are the unifier of little boys everywhere!

For a little spooky Halloween activity we made word family spiders.  He had lots of fun making his spider...

...and pretending they were attacking him!

To complete the Halloween fun we had our "class" party with colorful, gooey, surgery cupcakes.  Truth be told it was their treat for cooperating in their Halloween costume photo shoot I did. :)

We also make some handprint Halloween paintings on canvas, but I never put the finishing touches on them & took photos....I should be able to get that done before next October! :)
