We tried a new Easter painting craft right before Easter. The art teacher here at Stout Academy doesn't show up as often as she should. Ok, so truthfully she's a slacker and stick in the mud for doing all the core subjects. :)
Cast of Characters: Shaving cream, acrylic paints in various colors, tray/cookie sheet/9x13 pan, toothpicks and cardstock cut into an egg shape, waxed paper or newspaper, a squeegee/rubber spatula
Cut out your egg.
Squirt shaving cream on pan/tray & spread around into an even layer.
Dribble chosen colors of acrylic paint on shaving cream. Using a toothpick swirl & spread the paint into the the shaving cream
Place your cut out egg on the pile of shaving cream/paint. Smoosh it down into the cream a bit. Then remove egg and place on waxed paper or newspaper. Let the the eggs sit for a few minutes.
Next using a squeegee, rubber spatula or even the edge of a popsicle stick to scraaaaaape the shaving cream & paint off the egg. What is left behind is a beautiful swirled marbleized painted egg!!!
Last but not least......play in the remaining (unpainted) shaving cream :)
