More Hand Work Therapy

Now that the recipient has received her package in the mail I can publically share my latest little crafty project that doubled as hotel life therapy for me.

You might have seen the project for my home I made by compiling different Pinterest ideas here.  Well I had some supplies left over, tons of hotel livin' time on my hands & a itty bitty idea of how I could use the same general idea to create a gift for a friend.  I've mentioned her before here.  She's a gal I met in my church in Derby, MOPS & through other mama friends there.  Can't say I got to know her WELL in a super-close kind of way, but she has a presence about her that is so genuine & caring...a give-you-the-shirt-off-her-back kind of gal (which is super awesome if she's wearing one of her super awesome T's from Wild Olive Tee's).  She's creative in every way I am not, yet would dream to be.  Naming photography, design, techie schtuff, & writing to name a few.

She has 4 adorable kiddos.  2 from her womb and 2 born in her heart & delivered via Uganda.  This summer she's packing all 4 of those kids and her hubs for a month long stay in Uganda to do God's work & sharing His love through 60 Feet ministry. You can read more about their plans (& contribute if so desired) here. It was their travel news that inspired my lil' project...

I had warned her I was up to something and asked if there was a verse she in her adoption or 60 feet in ministry to orphans "clung" to as a "theme" verse.  And she said Matthew 25:40...

A swell verse if I say so myself.  It was also great to chat with my kids about the verse while they world sit and watch me sew.  Emma is SUPER pumped about the Cupcake Kids national bake sale in May that 60 Feet "hosts".  Emma loves to bake & create and even better that it's for a great cause!

If you happened to be living in a hotel with tan & orange swirly carpeting and an orange wall - double bonus that your creation will have a coordinating wall color in the photo.

I made 2.  I figured one for her and maybe one to...give to a friend, raffle to raise funds for their trip...whatever she wished.  Who knows maybe there are others I could bless with a similar gift.  I believe those who pursue adoption are some of angels walking around here on earth.

Matt & I have have always talked about the possibility of adoption.  Tossed it around.  Thought about it. Pondered. I have to say I honestly feel that right now is not our time.  Almost get frozen fingers even typing that. Probably a dash of conviction too. Reading Colleen's blog or the plethora of adoption blogs you can search, find and in my case- stalk....I know the stats.  I know how many kiddos need the love of a family & consistency of a home NOW...well actually like last week/month!   But I also feel God calls a couple to that journey...maybe our time will come, someday. Until then please pray for Colleen & her family in their travels, the volunteers & missionaries of 60 Feet and all those precious children of Uganda & around the world seeking their forever family.
