Spring Break Part I

Our impromptu crazy spring break trip has been great so far!

We pulled out of Atlanta area after saying good-bye to Matt about 3 pm on Friday.  A quick bite to eat in Birmingham & we arrived in Memphis for a nights rest about 10 pm.

Pulled back out for KS at 9 am Saturday.  We made minimal stops only for potty & snack except for lunch...which took a bit longer than I had planned.  We stopped in Conway Arkansas at a Chick'fil'a so the kids could play & run off a bit of energy while I ordered food.  Worked out pretty good except "poop-gate" (for those who know Aidan) had to occur making it a bit longer lunch break then planned.  THEN once loaded in the van the check engine light came on.  It had been on weeks earlier and was tested to be an oxygen sensor.  It had went off so we didn't mess with it.  I decided to be safe and stop at the O'reily's across the street to double check.  WELL, their diagnostics thing said a circuit issue and the something about a cylinder and "leave you stuck along side the road".  NOT good.  He referred us to go down a block or so to a Goodyear auto place with a better diagnostic computer.  GREAT news was their computer said oxygen sensor so back on the road we went.

Finally got to a QT in Tulsa so I could get a huge ole ice tea from a place you can trust the ice tea to be fresh! :)  The last 2 hours seemed to drag on.  Much of the trip from Tulsa to my in-laws are smaller county roads.  Ugh. The kids overall were awesome on the drive. The last 30 minutes was the only time I used both of my ear buds with iPod music playin' to drowned out the whines & wailing coming from the back of the van. :) That's not too bad for 16 hours of driving!! Arrived about 7:30 pm Saturday.

At the in-laws we got to see all the local cousins.  Playing at the park & with Gma's toys, shopping, egg dying & egg hunting.  Lots of squishes from lil' Max man. Watching KU win...and lose.

Isaac loved playing with the doll house.

Dying eggs.  Grandma's poor table & kitchen is put through the ringer when the grandkids are around! :)

Emma in her type A & OCD was very frustrated by her brothers mixing of colors and hap hazard decorating.  She even said "can I just go play and come back when they are done?!" :)

Egg Hunt Time!! 143 eggs divided by 4 kids :)

Isaac was very into the hunt this year.  His poor bucket kept getting so full when he bent over to get an egg 5 fell out, he would run along & another kid would come along and find those 5. The egg hunt could have lasted all day!  He finally found it best to carry his bucket like a purse. :)

Do you ever pull a photo off your camera and gasp b/c all of a sudden your child aged a couple years? Here's my most recent one of Aidan...looks like such a big boy!

Or maybe looking at this cute lil' guy it makes my Aidan look like a big guy. :)
