Summer Trip to KS Pt. II

After our visit with friend Amanda we headed toward my parents for the bridal shower that was to happen Saturday. My soon-to-be sister in law Beth was pampered with some nice personal gifts and a luncheon at a cute bed and breakfast located in Baldwin City, KS. It's actually where Matt & I stayed the night of our wedding.

They "big" girls were so excited to be a part of the shower. Beth opening the bird house Emma made for her. :)

All the guests and then all the "Burnett" girls.

Sunday we went to church with Papa and that evening went to Dallen's last T-ball game. Not sure Isaac was aware there was a game going on. He was thrilled with the dirt to play in and the Tootsie Pop someone gave him. Side notes: He LOVES Dallen! Follows him around like a puppy!! And Matt asked Aidan if he wants to play T-ball to which Aidan replies "no dad I want to drive race cars". Mama says NO-way-Jose!!

This pic could have so many captions. And the one with Papa is a favorite of mine!

Monday was the first day of Camp Mimi. Girls went first. They went to a farm type thing near Kansas City. They panned for gold, played, fished and did some shopping. The next day was crafts & swimming.

Marcia and I took the boys to Emporia Zoo, park to play and had a nice cooool lunch. The zoo was free, so nice & full of beautiful landscaping considering the small size of the zoo. Boys had a great time and it was perfect visit for such a warm day! We ended the evening with our friends the Partridges out at my sister's place. Boys got to ride the mini horses. They loved it!

Tuesday the girls finished up their camp and ended with a swim at the Osage pool. Marcia & I took the boys along to join in the fun. Isaac went down the waterside over and over and over again! Emma went off a diving board for the first time.

Wednesday started boy camp. We met Mimi after a Dr. appointment in Topeka and she took the boys to a Kids center. They had a ball and Mimi finally pulled them away for lunch a little after 2 pm!! They also did some crafts and some fun with water & Papa!

While the boys were "camping" we took the girls shopping and to a 3D showing of Madagascar 3.

Thursday was Just-B-Cuzin camp put on by Uncle Adam and Aunt BB. KS-Summer-Trip-12-228_thumb

The kids had a ball hanging out with them MINUS their mothers and the mothers enjoyed having a couple hours with NO kiddos! So, what did we end up doing? Hahaha! We took former "Camp Grannie Wanna Be" campers our cousins Beth & Diane for pedicures and desserts and drinks. It was gRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRreat!

We had a little bit of time to regain our energy after Cuzin Camp before arm band carnival rides!! For the record my children have no fear of any rides. Well except when Aidan & Dallen got stuck on the squirrel cages when the fairs generator went down. Carnival dark with very little lights and rides unable to move!!

Friday was a down day. Taking it easy. I went to Kansas City to pick Matt up at the airport and enjoyed a belated anniversary dinner. It was SO yummy! Once back at Mimi & Papa's we attempted to make glow in the dark bubbles. Honest. It LOOKS like a glow in the dark blood bath, or maybe Mimi had turned to the bubbly...or some form of glowing drugs...but honest it was glow bracelets & bubble solution. By the way- it was a Pinterest FAIL!!!

Saturday morning starts early at the ball fields for the kid races. 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners earn $$. Yay! Sprints, 3 legged race, shoe race, tire race, bike race, etc.

In the heat of the afternoon kids participated in the old fashion games. Our turtle "Green Lightening" was the champion of the turtle race. All that "exercise" by the boys must have encouraged him to RUN while he had the chance. :)

Isaac "found" money in the dig through the hay money find. Actually a friend gave it to him, but he dug and dug trying to find the money. All 3 Stout kids lined up for the very, very short balloon toss. Just as in the past that game lasts about one pass. :) Over heated and over tired we didn't stick around for the egg toss. Egg probably fried on contact anyway!

All rested up we were ready for the parade. I was physically ready, but not mentally. Lots of nerves and feelings about last year came rushing back. I was so glad to have Matt there this year.

He stuck to Isaac like glue. I finally had to step back and away from the kiddos b/c even though I knew Matt was there watching him I still gasped every time he moved toward the candy that was thrown.

Our first 2 weeks were amazing. I was feeling so blessed to get to see all my bestie friends, family & extended family all squished into such a short span. SO awesome!!! Already looking forward to next year!
