Summer Trip with an Arizona twist Pt. III

We left my parents Sunday morning and headed south to Wichita.  We had the AWESOME opportunity to meet up with our former neighbors and AZ besties in Wichita as they passed through to Indiana.  It was SO great to see them!  When we left AZ I didn't really know when I would get to see my friend Megan again.  I hope this can be an annual meeting, although very sad to think we might only see each other once a year. :(  We met up with them and went to Riverside Park in Wichita.  It's a great spot with a splash pad, play sets and a mini "zoo" of Kansas wildlife.

My kids did just how they had done with all our other friend visits of the KS trip...jumped right in playing like they had never been apart from their friend.  Shane is their 5 (almost 6) year old that by all accounts was Aidan's first BFF.  They giggled over the same things and loved all the same boy stuff.

Here they all are.  Best Buds.  Then Ainsley, Emma, Shane, Aidan & Isaac.

Here they all are goofy.  Boys showing muscles and then their "silly" pose...or Emma's model pose?!?

After the park we had a quick lunch at Braums before parting ways.  Time went way too fast.  We could have chatted for hours.

And here's the momma's that made it all happen. I'm fortunate that leaving KS taught me to cherish friendships b/c once I met Megan in AZ and we hit it off like we did I never once took for granted our time together.  As simple as sitting in lawn chairs watching the kids ride bikes, dig in rocks or blow bubbles I enjoyed it all.  Being away from them this summer has made settling into GA that much harder and provides the most doubt in every leaving AZ to begin with.  Finding a friendship with Megan proved so very much easier than any connection here in GA.  Makes for a lonely Teresa. :(  Excited to see (from a distance) her finish her last semester of nursing school.  Some place in AZ will be blessed with a caring kind hearted nurse after her December graduation.
