My 3rd Grader

I find it fun each year to compare Emma as a 3rd grader to myself from waaay back then.  Here's this year's line up.  I specifically remember my 3rd grade picture. I remember NOT wanting to wear that shirt. Ick.  I did not like it.  I was not a cowgirl, which is how it made me feel. Then there's my mop.  I'm afraid it fits the definition of a mullet.  Business in the front.  Party in the back.  Probably saved hours of time brushing my hair to only have it long in the back.  We all know the over the ear hair takes forevah to brush!! Was that it Mom??!! :)

Then there's Emma's picture.  Cute shirt.  A poofy headband is a staple to her wardrobe.  The messy hair is something I'm trying to accept.  I sent a brush, however the older she gets the late in the day pictures happen.  (Here is where I could rant that any good photographer or teacher like myself would look down the line of kiddos and slightly repair or touch up what looks out of the norm, but I'd digress) I guess I'd agree she's starting to resemble Momma a bit. Minus the whole mullet situation.

Still my sweet girl. Love that toothy smile. Adore the little freckles. :) The above comparison is for my fun.  The collage below is painful to my heart.  It literally feels like that baby faced Kindergartener was just here yesterday.  1st & 2nd were a blur...guess the whole moving thing might have caused me distractions.
