Our entry way feels like such a big space that is very under utilized. The first step in making the entrance to our home feel more like our home was to add a splash of color. This is what you see when you walk in the front door. Stairs leading up to the bedrooms and a railing that overlooks the living room. The arched door way leads into the living room.
So here's what I did...
A nice red/brown/brick splash of color. The desk is an antique from Matt's family. The cross art on the wall I felt was a smidge too small in scale for the area. SO I repurposed an old frame, had a friendly old man at Lowes help me cut a board & purchase hardware to mount the board in the empty frame and the art piece to the board. Before assembly I painted and distressed the board using the paint color from the office walls which is located to the left of the front door & entry.
Ooooohhhh Matt- Next Up is the entry area around the door itself. These are the BEFORE pics from the day of our home inspection. I have big plans for Matt to use his new nail gun tool to make this area FAB!
Here's some ideas I've got...
