Stout Summary 2.18-2.23

Our "winter" break started out with a bang this week at the "Spirit of the Dragon" Ringling Brother's Circus.  I don't think the kids at all expected a circus on this large of scale.  We had attended a circus a few months back that was smaller and held under an actual big top tent. Aidan's request- chickens.  Isaac's request- a fire breathing dragon & water dragon.  So off we went to what might be the most disappointing circus ever.

They gasped as we entered the arena. It was BIG!

They did a great job distracting the set up on the floor for the next act by providing entertainment high in the "sky".  Like this motorcycle act before the lions & tigers.

They lions were pretty cool!

There are day's I'm convinced my kids make me feel like this is happening to my head/hair! :)

My boys' favorite by far. Ninja action!

Intermission robbery...I mean intermission treats.  They older two wanted tigers.  Isaac said "I want an elephant"  Luckily they had one! A bit pricey but at least the cup acts as a souvenir to take home!

Due to massive amounts of snow cone clean up we have very few pictures after intermission! :) They ended up with like 10 motorcycles in this cage.  Super crazy!

And finally...the very.last.act was a fire breathing dragon!!!!

Aidan didn't seem to disappointed about the lack of chickens.  There were dogs, cats, donkey, llama, sheep, pony, horses, lions, tigers, & elephants so that seemed to replace the fowl. :) The price of the circus was very reasonable I thought...but boy the get ya with the snacks & toys they try to sell ya!  Obviously that is where the $$ is!

Tuesday we went for the kids cleanings at the dentist.  Uneventful which was nice.  Emma did have a small repair that needs made, and much to her dismay they did not mention braces.

While shopping this week Isaac spotted his first true larger than life afro hair style.  That was an interesting public interaction.

Friday we took the kids to a movie.  I had kind of hoped to hire our sitter so Matt and I could go out, but after I didn't hear back from her we pitched the movie idea to the kids.  Moments later we heard back from the sitter and she was free. :(  Went to see Escape From Plant Earth. It was a cute movie.

Since the sitter was free Saturday we reserved her.  Matt celebrated 15 years with QT the end of January.  We didn't really celebrate Valentine's Day AND we both have birthdays in the next several weeks so it was a combo celebration!  Matt had wanted to take me to his facility to see the production areas.  Kids aren't allowed back there, so I've never been able to tour them.  But we drove off in such an excited kid free speed that we left his badge & keys at home.  We opted to do a little shopping instead.  There's a Garden Ridge I had yet to visit and didn't really want to take the kids.  We killed some time there and then went to find dinner.  There were 2 Italian places we were interested in.  One is very quaint and very small and had a huge wait...so that helped us make up our mind.

It was a nice quiet dinner that involved no potty trips or dropped utensils. :)

We are finally over the flu, fevers & "coughits" as Aidan calls it. Hoping with nicer weather arriving every now and then these germs will go away!

Now back to the grind tomorrow.  The kids have to work through one whole month of school before their Spring Break the first week in April...their final break before Summer.
